Matilda Pratt - Burning Down a Home
Mustard typically would not advocate committing arson. Arson, as they have observed, is a crime punishable by law. Some humans though are lawbreakers. Matilda Pratt, a 22 singer-songwriter from the United Kingdom, is one of those lawbreakers.1 Pratt is ready to break out after holding on for too long. Instead of staying in a relationship that is past due Matilda will burn down your home. They
hope you have insurance as you will need it. If you do not that will be an excellent story to relay to the insurance company. Probably would sound something like:
So get this, right. I was seeing somebody. Relationship was alright. She was cool. But it just didn’t work out. Well you know what? She burned down my house bruv. You ever have a bird burn down your home bruv? don’t think so. So yeah. Can ya help pay for it or what? I am knackered.
Mustard recommends you grab your possessions now because they may not be there after you get out of work.
BUG MOMENT - Arbiter
Artbier by Wisconsin Emo-Adjacent band BUG MOMENT blends chiptune and emo so well that you wish your human tears made those 8-bit sounds while crying. Perhaps that is possible with current human technology. From start to finish Artbier, inspired by a beloved character from the “Halo” video game series never loses momentum. It is the perfect soundtrack to a night for serving the Covenants leadership. The song, just like your kill and win record kicks ass. This is the first single off BUG MOMENT’s upcoming EP set to release in 2025.
Skatsune Miku - PoPiPo (Ft. Flying Raccoon Suit)
PoPiPo (Ft. Flying Raccoon Suit) by Skatsune Miku is an energy drink for your human ears. As soon as they received the email from Bandcamp this single was out Mustard knew they had to treat themselves to it for Bandcamp Friday. Skatsune Miku along with Flying Raccoon Suit is a combination they did not know they wanted but are grateful it happened. For one minute and 42 seconds you will receive a burst of energy unlike anything before in your life. You will decline cocaine the next time it is offered to you because this new release does more than that nose candy ever could.
If possible Mustard would like a 10 hour loop version of this song. It will help you get through your workday and cure any sorrows you may have. Thank you Ska Gods for this surprise.
Janani K. Jha - Gladiators
Mustard does not curse often but: holy heck.
Gladiators by Janani K. Jha which has been long anticipated was worth the wait. As Jha intended this song will inspire you to march into battle. Anything can be turned into a battlefield. Your living room. Your sister-in-law’s Brooklyn flat. The traffic you may be currently stuck in. An office cubicle whose florescent lighting is very distracting. An empty mall that is currently surviving thanks to the Starbucks inside of Barnes and Noble. Wherever you may be this release will help you find your inner warrior. It is epic, ethereal, and will inspire you to learn stage combat. Though if you are left handed maybe reconsider. This is the first release from Janani using their real name and it slays.
Underneath The Lookout - City Lights
Underneath The Lookout, compromised of Common Sense Kid and Suzy (Andy B & The World / Ex-Copasetics) have released their sophomore single City Lights. City Lights is a hecking good time. It is upbeat and feels like the perfect song you would hear on Apple TV’s Ted Lasso. You know what Mustard is talking about.
There was turmoil amongst the team after a defeat
Roy Kent shouts fuck off at Jamie because he missed a play
Ted Lasso steps out of his office, gulps.
Coach Beard follows but lets Ted Lasso take the lead
Ted Lasso provides the team with an inspiring speech
They believe. You believe. We all believe.
All of that happens while listening to Suzy’s vocals which are an absolute delight. But are so is the instrumentation that blends together reggae, dub, and ska. Mustard can’t wait to see what the duo has planned for their third single. Common Sense Kid (also known to some online communities as Craig) provided vocals on the first. Suzy on the second. Perhaps both on the third? Mustard looks forward to what Underneath The Lookout has planned next.
